“Take a deep breath and know that things will get better.”
COVID-19’s second wave has led to havoc in India’s health care system. The steep rise in cases last month created a great strain on the country’s hospitals. Schools that were reopening prior to the surge had to go back to online lessons, and lockdowns have been imposed in many cities including Bangalore. SDIE graduate Hamsa, a 2nd-year Naturopathy student in Mysore, shares how she has coped during this stressful time.
The pandemic has had a profound impact on all our lives, with many restrictions being implemented across the country. Our exams had been postponed once due to the pandemic, and we couldn’t take them before the second wave hit. It’s so hard to concentrate on our studies in this uncertain environment. I’m worried about my 2nd-year college performance, but at the same time, I’m trying to focus on activities to keep myself positive. I believe that “meditation is like medication” for our mental peace. Yoga has been my best stress buster throughout this time and I urge everyone to try it.
I’m grateful that my family is well and I pray for those who have lost so much. My message to everyone is to be strong, stay home, and stay safe. Take a deep breath and know that things will get better.”
