Over the past few months, the Sahasra Deepika Outreach Program has worked with 1800 students from 12 government high schools around Bangalore to help them improve their English skills. On February 9th, the 2012-2013 program ended with the 4th Annual Spelling Bee Contest at Hombegowda High School. Dawood Ibrahim, a 9th standard student from Gottigere Government High School emerged victorious by spelling “dermatology.” Dawood received a scholarship for pre-university. Additionally, the top 4 finishers were given Suphaalam’s SmartPad 7 tablets loaded with Smart Learning Suite software.
