How do you celebrate 20 years of changing lives? On July 15th. Sahasra Deepika held its 20th Anniversary program, honoring the selfless vision of our founders, T.V. and Vijaya Lakshmi Ramakrishna, and the many lives touched by their work. Sahasra Deepika has given so many children hope for a better future. The beautiful event, organized by the SDIE trustees, was especially moving when the graduates spoke about the impact Sahasra Deepika has made on their lives. There were skits, songs and dances, and speeches by the Founders’ daughter and son, Sarva Rajendra and Dr. Naren Ramarksihna. SDIE awarded its Founders Award to Dr. Sridhar, a noted educationist and co-founder of Deeksha High, in recognition of his pivotal role in developing such a great school for our students. Mr. Venkat Iyer was awarded Sahasra Deepika’s Humanitarian Award in honor of his tireless work for the needy. The occasion was emceed by three of our youth ambassadors: Asmi Pareek, Meera Dahiya and Shanthi Ramakrishna, who came from the USA to celebrate this great milestone.
